A Little about us
Dan & Deana Ferris are the proprietors of Mill Lane Smokehouse & Winery. We've lived in Tenino for just over two years and relocated here from eastern Washington. Dan is retired Air Force and loves to chat about the good old days! Deana has background in sales, customer service and procurement during the course of her private sector and state employment. We are a family oriented business, with our children helping to harvest fruit for our wines and taking active part in growing the business. As we get established, we'd love to become involved with community activities and would welcome inquiries for available opportunities.
about the smokehouse
Dan began making smoked meats about 20 years ago, to process his own wild game. His family and friends loved his recipes so much, he began processing their game as well. Word of mouth spread, and soon he was processing wild game for hunters from all over the Pacific Northwest.
Dan then decided to experiment with making his own style of meat snack sticks of beef and pork because those on the market were very high in fat, sodium and frankly, most didn't taste that great! So after quite a few recipe revisions, ruined meat and lots of time spent in the smokehouse, he came up with delicious and nutritious meat snack sticks, with only 35 calories each! We will soon have these available for sale in our retail store in Tenino, as well as here on our website.
We also have a delicious line of smoked cheeses, such as cheddar, mozzarella, pepperjack, gouda, havarti and with more varieties on the way. Additionally, smoked brats, chicken, ribs, turkey and prime rib are on the menu as well. Yummy!!

about the winery
We began making wine as a hobby several years ago, starting with simple recipes. As time has gone by, we began experimenting with different fruits, methods, oaking and spices and discovered we have a knack and a passion for creating wonderful wines. After friends and family urged us to think about selling it, we began the process of State and Federal approvals, which was just recently completed.
We specialize in handcrafting fruit wines, with the fruit harvested from right here in Washington State (except for the pineapple of course!). Our goal for you, as you experience our wines, is to give you the feeling that you're biting into a fresh, delicious piece of fruit.
We also have a small line of red wines for those die hard red wine fans. :) Of course, we wouldn't leave you out! Dan is a 40 year basketball referee, so this line is named with basketball terms, such as Breakaway, Two Handed Flush and In Your Face.
We invite you to stop into the tasting room and enjoy a few relaxing moments to enjoy what we have to offer and hopefully leave with some excellent wine to share with your loved ones.
